We all know that healthy food is full of vitamins and minerals. A balanced diet includes vegetables that provide fiber, iron, and calcium, fruits and grains that offer vitamins, and proteins with yet more iron and vitamins. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to obtain our required nutrients from food alone.
Many foods are not entirely "bioavailable," meaning our digestive tract simply can't extract the actual amount of nutrients I the food. People with dietary restrictions or food sensitivities have even more obstacles. And because soil quality has declined over the past century, much of the produce we consume is significantly lower in vitamins and minerals.
